Taking my Medicine

So I got the first really great night of sleep I've had in probably a month thanks to my new best friend Vicodin.

As some of you may be aware I have been battling a hip/sciatic nerve 'thing', wherein pain and numbness from my lower back through my right leg on down to the ball of my right foot have caused me pain, discomfort and other problems for awhile now. After trying a bunch of different drug therapies to correct the problem, my doctor has finally decided to go back to what I knew from the start was most likely going to be the answer anyway. Painkillers and Physical Therapy.

So now I'm taking muscle anti-inflammatory/relaxants during the day and knock you on your ass don't make any other plans Vicodin by night.

I have an MRI to schedule to make sure the issue is truly physiomuscular and not caused by any kind of unnatural blockage or cyst or anything, but that isn't the likely cause of the issue. The likely cause is that I stopped working-out abruptly, increasing my chances of injury and injured my ass-vein by wearing my wallet in my back pocket all day for a couople of weeks straight while I worked, compressing the Sciatic nerve. Word to the wise people, take your wallet out of your back pocket - it's truly not worth the literal pain in the ass later.

The only problem I had was that when I went to get my prescription filled my insurance information was no good due to the fact that we were bought out and then unionized so the frickin' insurance provider has changed three times in as many months. I called today and go that sorted out, but the insurance stuff was apparently routing to my old, old, old, old address in Woodinville and then into the void. They are sending a new prescription insurance card that will arrive in 7-10 days, but I'm not waiting till then for muscle relaxants, so I had them set something up so I could call from the pharmacy and get the prescription billed - apparently it's illegal for them to tell my my insurance info over the phone, but they can tell some dude I say is a pharmacist. Whatever. I paid for the vicodin (which was only $14) and left the muscle relaxants until I had this sorted out because it would have run me over $50.

Still, I slept a deep, dreamless sleep last night and woke up rested. It was really nice.

I think we have some muscle relaxants to tide you over. Ask Tim.
